Jeffrey Myers

What we say and how we say it matters. What we write and how we write it matters. Simply put, Words Matter. And the action (or inaction) associated with those words has a major impact on the trust and confidence we engender in those we serve as executive leaders. As a tested and proven leader in private equity, for-profit and nonprofit organizations all the way up to the C-suite, as well as being a freelance writer, Myers understands the importance of using the right words.

A graduate of California State University in Fullerton (though his heart lies with THE Ohio State University where he spent the first years of his degree pursuit) with a degree in Communications, Myers is an accomplished executive leader currently consulting with Private Equity firms on acquisition targets in the healthcare, training, education, certification, health & safety, and membership verticals.

Myers recently served as the Chief of Staff for Nova Health, a portfolio partner of Shore Capital, where he was responsible for supporting the leadership team in executing the growth strategy in the Pacific Northwest to facilitate rapid expansion in its network of urgent care and primary care clinics. Prior to this, his professional stops included working with the private equity held Health & Safety Institute (HSI) initially as a consultant to look after their international business assets in Canada, Greece, Japan, and New Zealand. He was then brought on as a full time employee in 2010 as the Vice President of Production to oversee the creation of new (and updates to existing) instructional materials. He was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2012 and then to Chief Operations Officer in 2013 where he supported the customer-facing departments of the organization while continuing to oversee international growth opportunities; facilitate legal review and manage corporate contracts; and provide leadership on strategic initiatives throughout the HSI family of Brands.

As the Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Training at Divers Alert Network (DAN) before his time with HSI, Myers was responsible for the organization’s operational oversight as well as leadership of its educational programs. He also directed the development of new diving emergency programs, supervised revisions to DAN’s mainstay educational tools and much more. All of this had the direct result of solidifying DAN’s position as the dive industry’s “Dive Safety Organization.”

Prior to his time at DAN, Myers worked with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) where he was an educational consultant, an instructor examiner and managed the Training, Education and Membership departments for the world’s largest scuba diver training organization.

With more than 100 writing credits to his name including magazine articles, newsletters and blogs along with contributing as an author/editor of numerous scuba-related books and manuals, Myers has also been an avid writer at each of these stops. He is also an accomplished and respected educator and speaker having traveled extensively as a featured presenter, educator, examiner, and master of ceremonies internationally and domestically.
